Hearing Aid Procedures and Policy
- Communication Needs Assessment/Hearing Aid Selection: This appointment will last approximately 45 minutes, at that time advantages and disadvantages of hearing aid styles and features will be discussed.
- Ear Impressions: When you are prepared to order hearing aids, impressions of your ears will be obtained. The impressions will be sent to the manufacturer and it will be approximately 2 weeks for the hearing aids to be built and shipped.
- Hearing Aid Fit and Train: At this appointment, the hearing aids will be physically fit to your ears and adjusted to match your hearing loss. You will be instructed on the use and care of the hearing aids.
- Hearing Aid Follow-up: Follow up appointments are scheduled after the Hearing Aid Fit and Train to assess hearing aid benefits, fine tuning, continued hearing aid orientation and rehabilitation.

(The hearing evaluation and medical evaluation are NOT part of the Hearing Aid Package and are billed separately. At least a portion of the hearing and medical evaluations is usually covered by insurance/Medicare.)
Hearing Aid Payments
- $200.00 Non-refundable deposit is due at the time hearing aids are ordered.
- The balance is due in full at the time of the Hearing Aid Fit and Train.
IT IS THE PATIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND HIS INSURANCE COVERAGE REGARDING HEARING AIDS.
