You need to be cautioned about the serious risks of being skin tested or taking allergy injections while on any Beta-blocker medications. They are commonly prescribed for high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, and migraine headache prevention. These medications block the action of adrenaline and increase the risk of a severe allergic reaction.
If you are already on one of these medications, please inform our staff immediately. Please inform your other physicians that you are on allergy injections when they prescribe any medications. The following is a list of common beta-blockers but is not exhaustive. Please review your medications with our staff if you have any questions.
